Haight-Ashbury

The City's Perfect Day guide calls the Haight the home of Peace and Love. The worldwide attention on 1967's Summer of Love created Haight Street's reputation, and San Francisco Heritage says the name Haight-Ashbury still stands for freedom of expression and bohemian fashions. Visitors find vintage clothing shops, the record store Amoeba Music, and a neighborhood map marking homes tied to Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead.
