North Beach

North Beach has no actual beach, but the City's Perfect Day guide calls it San Francisco's historic Italian-American neighborhood, where a strong Italian-American community has seeded the area with restaurants and cafes. Vintage wooden houses climb Telegraph Hill, crowned by Coit Tower, which was built in the 1930s and is decorated inside with murals of California history. Grant Avenue has one-of-a-kind shops, and Broadway is lined with music clubs and restaurants.
